Laboratory

Scott County Hospital Laboratory Services

Scott County Hospital’s Laboratory is a fully accredited facility offering a broad range of diagnostic testing to support accurate, timely medical care. Our lab is staffed by highly trained professionals and operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to support inpatient and emergency services.

Outpatient services are available Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. A physician’s order is required for testing. No appointment is needed for routine blood collection.

Our laboratory is federally accredited and participates in the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) program. This ensures we meet the highest standards of quality, accuracy, and compliance in all aspects of diagnostic testing.

Testing Capabilities

The Scott County Hospital Laboratory offers testing in the following areas:

Clinical Chemistry
Cardiac, kidney, and liver function monitoring, Hemoglobin A1c

Special Chemistry
Thyroid function, therapeutic drug monitoring, cancer screening, hormone testing, beta hCG, and more

Arterial Blood Gases & Co-Oximetry
Includes carboxyhemoglobin measurements

Hematology
Complete blood counts (CBC), cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) & body fluid cell counts, sedimentation rate, reticulocyte counts

Urinalysis

Serology & Urine Drug Testing
Urine pregnancy tests, mono tests, rapid strep, COVID-19, RSV, and flu tests

PCR Testing
GC/Chlamydia, MRSA, Clostridium difficile, Group B Strep

Blood Bank Services
Blood typing, Type and Screen, and Crossmatching
