Speech-Language Therapy
Speech-Language Therapy Brochure
Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP's) work to prevent, assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, social communication, cognitive-communication, assistive technology (AAC) , voice, stuttering, and swallowing disorders in infants, children & adults.Speech therapists work with a range of human communication and swallowing disorders in individuals across the lifespan. Therapy gets people back to living their most meaningful lives, by restoring the highest level of independence possible, with the things that are most important to the individual. At the most basic level, this means restoring the ability to complete daily activities such as eating/drinking safely, communicating wants/needs, understanding the speech of others, and being able to use their voice. In addition, SLP's provide training and education to family/caregivers and work collaboratively with other professionals to ensure they're providing the best possible care. Ultimately, the goal of a speech therapist is to get their patients back to normal functioning, or to live better with-injury, illness, or disability. SLP's have holistic perspective, in which the focus is on adapting the therapy to fit the person, and the person is an integral part of the therapy team.

I am a Speech-Language Pathologist at the Scott County Hospital. I recently started in May of 2025! My primary clinical focus has been working with adults in inpatient care, but I also have experience working with pediatric patients of all ages. I earned my graduate degree from Arizona State University and have a special interest in dysphagia, voice, and neurological disorders. I enjoy the challenge of working with each individual patient—whether adult or child—and creating personalized treatment plans that support meaningful progress. I’m especially passionate about working as part of an interdisciplinary team to provide well-rounded, high-quality care. | |
